About The Position

Kent is looking for an experienced Electrical Lead on the Willow Project in Prudhoe Bay, Alaska. This position provides discipline leadership for electrical scope during commissioning and start-up, ensuring safe, compliant, and technically sound energization and system turnover in a remote Arctic environment. The Electrical Lead will oversee electrical field execution, coordinate with engineering and commissioning leadership, and ensure alignment with project procedures, safety standards, and client expectations.

Requirements

  • Technical certification or relevant electrical trade qualification.
  • 10+ years of experience in electrical execution, commissioning, and start-up.
  • Demonstrated experience leading electrical scope on large-scale oil & gas or energy infrastructure projects.
  • Strong working knowledge of power distribution systems.
  • Experience with: MCCs Switchgear Transformers UPS systems E-houses / modular electrical facilities
  • Experience supporting PLC/DCS systems through commissioning and integration.
  • Strong understanding of: Electrical safety and isolations Energization procedures Project permitting requirements Turnover and system completion processes
  • Strong discipline leadership and decision-making capability.
  • Ability to coordinate multi-disciplinary execution teams.
  • Proactive risk identification and mitigation.
  • Strong documentation control and procedural oversight.

Responsibilities

  • Provide discipline leadership for all electrical commissioning and start-up activities.
  • Report to the Commissioning Manager / Discipline Lead and support overall execution strategy.
  • Lead planning and coordination of electrical commissioning scope across systems and areas.
  • Supervise and direct electrical supervisors, technicians, and vendor personnel.
  • Serve as primary electrical interface with: Commissioning leadership Construction teams Client representatives Vendors and OEMs
  • Review and approve electrical commissioning procedures and test documentation.
  • Oversee development and resolution of RFIs and field technical queries.
  • Ensure accurate completion tracking and database updates for system turnover.
  • Review and approve commissioning check sheets and system dossiers.
  • Lead energization planning, isolation reviews, and zero-energy verification processes.
  • Provide oversight for: Loop checks Interlock and logic testing Dynamic equipment runs DCS and PLC integration
  • Review and redline electrical documentation including: One-line diagrams Wiring diagrams Schematics Cable schedules Data sheets
  • Ensure compliance with permitting processes (CSU, Area Authority, JSA, FLRA, etc.).
  • Manage punch list closeout and system readiness for handover.
  • Mentor and develop electrical field personnel.
  • Support execution planning considering Arctic site logistics and environmental constraints.
  • In addition to the responsibilities listed herein, the employee may be required to perform other ad-hoc tasks as needed or directed by the supervisor or management. These tasks will be within the reasonable scope of the employee's skills, capabilities, and role within the organization.
