About The Position

Murray Equipment, Inc. is seeking a dedicated Electrical Assembler to join our team. This role is perfect for a motivated, hands-on individual who enjoys assembling, wiring, testing, and building high quality industrial control panels and automation hardware that support our industry-leading control and automation solutions. At MEI, we engineer and produce a full line of liquid and dry fertilizer automation control panels, including the ICS Controls Series—from simple preset panels to sophisticated loadout, mix plant, batching, and unattended automation systems. These panels integrate with ICS ControlPro® software to deliver powerful automation, system integration, and facility control. Position Summary The Electrical Assembler builds high-quality control panels used in industrial automation, including: ICS Loadout Controls Mix Plant Controls Preset and Plumbing Control Panels Motor Starter and UL 508A electrical enclosures These products provide reliable automation and control at customer facilities, interfacing with ICS software systems like ControlPro® to streamline plant operations and loadout processes.

Requirements

Ability to follow complex wiring diagrams and technical documentation.
Strong electrical and mechanical aptitude with meticulous attention to detail.
Experience using common hand and power tools.
Effective communication skills (written and verbal).
Computer literacy (general and Microsoft Office).
Team-oriented, organized, and quality-focused mindset.
High School Diploma or GED required.
Previous electrical assembly experience in industrial or manufacturing settings.

Nice To Haves

UL 508A Panel Shop Certification (preferred)
ISA Certified Control Systems Technician (CCST)
Electronics/Electrical Assembly or Industrial Controls certification
Technical school, electrical trades, or automation coursework preferred.

Responsibilities

Assemble and wire UL 508A industrial control panels, including ICS series loadout, mix plant, preset panels, motor starter panels, and related electrical enclosures.
Conduct electrical assembly by soldering, mounting units on plates, positioning parts in panels, inserting assemblies into enclosures, and completing panel wiring.
Layout, drill, tap, and mount electrical components including DIN rail, motor starters, relays, contactors, PLCs, VFDs, terminal blocks, meters, and associated hardware into enclosures.
Cut, strip, crimp, solder, label, and route wiring for control circuits (24VDC, 120VAC) and power circuits (240/460VAC) in accordance with schematics, wiring diagrams, and UL 508A standards.
Read and interpret electrical blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation to ensure accurate assembly.
Test performance of products prior to shipment by performing point-to-point continuity checks, functional testing, diagnostics, and troubleshooting of wiring issues or component failures.
Monitor related supplies and requisition necessary parts and materials to support production.
Accurately record labor hours and parts used in assembly and fabrication, and submit all documentation in a complete, accurate, and timely manner according to established procedures.
Provide support to plant equipment and assist with troubleshooting or technical issues as needed.
Follow UL 508A requirements, company safety policies, quality standards, and all applicable procedures, maintaining a clean and organized work area.
Support production and assembly continuous improvement initiatives.
