About The Position

Peraton is seeking a Facilities Electrical Designer to join our team in Brook Park, Ohio , supporting the NASA Glenn Engineering and Research Support (GEARS) Contract . As a key partner on the GEARS team, Peraton provides multi-disciplinary technical services to maintain, enhance, and modernize facilities at NASA Glenn Research Center (GRC) . This position supports the Facilities Infrastructure Division in managing and maintaining institutional control systems at GRC. The ideal candidate should have experience high voltage equipment design, layout and interface. Assembling switchgear documentation, and typical knowledge of field installation or tradecraft. Responsibilities will focus on system record modifications, drawing configuration management, and supporting new or rehabbed system integration.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with two years of experience or an Associates degree with four years of experience. In lieu of degree of degree high school with a minimum of six years of experience.
  • U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain a NASA PIV badge.
  • Experience within electrical utility environments, including building automation, industrial systems, and process control.
  • Strong background in high voltage and switchgear design, with the versatility to support mechanical and process control disciplines as required.
  • Ability to review and validate technical specifications or contractor RFI.
  • Familiarity with mechanical or process control documentation to support record changes as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical certification, or equivalent experience in controls, automation, electrical, or related technical fields.

Responsibilities

  • Manage change requests stemming from completion of design projects by other parties to ensure accurate as-built records.
  • Perform variety of configuration management drafting tasks to develop or maintain engineering documents.
  • Provide direct designer support to institutional system managers, as needed, related to analyses, design studies, design reviews and evaluations.
  • Validate contractor work and ensure compliance with project specifications and control standards.
  • Work across multiple disciplines, applying electrical, mechanical, and process control knowledge as needed.
