About The Position

Fountain Electric is seeking a talented and detail-oriented Electrical Design & Layout Intern to join our Design and Engineering Department. This department plays a critical role in creating electrical layout drawings, facilitating Building Information Modeling (BIM) coordination, and supporting pre-fabrication designs for our electrical construction projects. As an intern, you will work closely with experienced professionals and gain hands-on experience in drafting, design coordination, and pre-construction planning.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Drafting/Design, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Basic experience with design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and/or Revit) is required.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate, high-quality work.
• Effective communication and organizational skills.
• Eagerness to learn and apply design concepts in a practical setting.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with BIM processes and software is a plus but not required.
• Previous coursework or experience in drafting, design, or electrical layouts is preferred but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Assist with cost analysis of assemblies used or considered for prefabrication & installation
• Produce basic layouts/drawings showing architectural aspects of buildings.
• Assist with producing electrical layouts for prefabrication & installation using Bluebeam, AutoCad, and/or Revit
• Assist with file creation for CNC printing for use in prefabrication of underground electrical racks and other assemblies
• Assist the department with document analysis, organization, and processing
