About The Position

We are seeking a skilled and innovative Electrical Engineer to join our team at Vac-Con. This role involves the design, development, testing, and maintenance of electrical systems and components used in high-performance sewer cleaning and hydro-excavation machinery. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering, a passion for problem-solving, and the ability to work in a dynamic, hands-on environment.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in electrical CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN).
  • Experience with PLC programming and industrial automation (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens).
  • Knowledge of motor control systems, sensors, and power distribution.
  • Strong understanding of safety standards and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field (required).
  • Ability to work in manufacturing and field environments, including exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and climb ladders as needed.
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) when required.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with embedded systems and microcontroller programming is a plus.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or working toward licensure (preferred).
  • Continuing education or certifications in industrial automation or controls (a plus).

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop electrical systems for sewer cleaning equipment, including control panels, wiring harnesses, and embedded systems.
  • Collaborate with mechanical and design engineers to integrate electrical components into complex machinery.
  • Create and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
  • Conduct testing and troubleshooting of electrical systems to ensure safety, reliability, and compliance with industry standards.
  • Support manufacturing and field service teams with technical expertise and training.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and safety regulations (e.g., NEC, UL, CE).
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and product development cycles.
