About The Position

Global Finishing Solutions is looking for an Electrical Engineer II who thrives on designing, troubleshooting, and leading complex electrical systems. You’ll guide Engineering and Design teams, provide technical expertise across cross-functional teams, and ensure all designs meet code and performance standards. From PLC programming to HMI integration, you’ll bring electrical systems to life—and make sure they run flawlessly in the real world. You’ll collaborate with Sales, Manufacturing, Installation, and Customer Service to turn customer specifications into practical, buildable solutions. This is hands-on, high-impact engineering with a front-row seat to seeing your designs come alive on the shop floor.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or related field) with 3–8 years of experience; or Master’s degree with 0–6 years of experience; or Associate degree with 10–15 years of experience.
  • Strong understanding of electrical control systems, NFPA, UL, and NEC standards.
  • Hands-on experience with PLC programming, HMI design, and system integration.
  • Ability to lead, mentor, and provide technical guidance to cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail—nothing slips past you.
  • Comfortable traveling to job sites for start-ups, commissioning, and troubleshooting.

Nice To Haves

  • PE license preferred (for mechanical/electrical roles, depending on local regulations).

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, programming, and integration of complex electrical control systems, including PLCs, HMIs, and industrial hardware.
  • Use CAD and engineering software to create, analyze, and refine electrical designs while staying compliant with NFPA, UL, and NEC codes.
  • Serve as the technical go-to for drafting, sales, purchasing, manufacturing, installation, and customer service—helping troubleshoot problems before they escalate.
  • Drive or contribute to cross-functional product development and corrective action teams to improve cost, quality, and delivery performance.
  • Provide remote and on-site support for equipment installation, start-up, and commissioning.
  • Answer code and compliance questions with authority, ensuring all systems meet safety and performance standards.
  • Innovate through R&D—value-engineer existing products and help launch new electrical solutions.
  • Improve engineering processes, tools, and documentation to boost accuracy, speed, and quality.
  • Lead or participate in technical reviews from proposal through production release.
  • Analyze and propose electrical design concepts that are practical, compliant, and customer-ready.
