We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Richmond, VA office. As a Senior Engineer, you will be responsible for representing the Firm in all interactions with clients, contractors, architects, and other project team members. You will be responsible for supervising, coordinating, and assigning various projects to be performed by the team. Requirements

  • Bachelor's in Electrical Engineer in accredited schools.
  • 7+ years of relevant experience in MEP field
  • Hands-on design and CAD/REVIT experience, required, as you will have a very strong technical role
  • Able to perform calculation for his/her trade to support design; possess basic knowledge of systems design for various projects.
  • Knowledge of design of various system
  • Willingness to pursue professional development opportunities
  • FE/EIT required, PE preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assume responsible charge for the overall economic well-being of the assigned projects.
  • Conduct business development activities.
  • Conducts due diligence reports that comply with group and company standards and procedures. Establishes design standards, specifications, and criteria for projects.
  • Designs large projects, prepares reports and specifications, and provides a very high level of technical leadership.
  • Establishes project budgets and schedules.
  • Networks within SHG and outside.
  • Participates in QA/QC process of completed work by staff.
  • Participates in various trade organizations and prepare presentations.
  • Performs “Engineer of Record” duties for projects.
  • Performs calculations, equipment selection, equipment specification, system design, system layout, field investigation, and construction administration.
  • Performs staff resource management and review.
  • Produces drawings consistent with client requirements and standards.
  • Provides consulting engineering services including preparation of due diligence reports, gap analyses, and feasibility reports.
  • Pursues continuing education.
  • Represents Firm in all interactions with clients, contractors, architects, and other project team members.
  • Take responsible charge for the project for his/her discipline, addressing any E & O issues
  • Providing trade specific system design: layout; calculations; and other related design services including coordination with the designs of other internal and external.
  • Directing and leading the design team of a wide number of projects.
