About The Position

Imagine yourself as a pivotal member of Collins Aerospace's Vision Systems Electrical Engineering team, where your education in electrical engineer will drive the innovation of next-generation camera systems, heads up displays, and helmet mounted displays for both commercial and military aircraft. In this co-op role, you will lead the charge in designing, verifying, and certifying complex FPGA firmware and hardware, ensuring that our systems not only meet but exceed stringent industry standards. You'll be immersed in a collaborative environment, working closely with a diverse team of engineers and professionals, all dedicated to advancing the safety of air travel. Your contributions will be critical to the success of our projects, from initial requirements definition through to final product certification, allowing you to leave a lasting impact on the aviation industry. This role is onsite, in Wilsonville, OR. This role may be eligible for relocation.

Requirements

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Nice To Haves

  • Have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
  • Currently enrolled at an accredited university majoring in electrical engineering or computer engineering.
  • Graduating with a bachelor’s degree in 2026.

Responsibilities

  • You will verify digital hardware for a military or commercial applications.
  • You will review requirements for a new digital hardware design using enterprise tools such as Jama Connect.
  • You will create a test approach, outline, and description for hardware level verification in Microsoft Word.
  • You will perform dry-runs and run-for-score on hardware test procedures.
  • You will present hardware verification approach to the certification authority.
  • You will support the electrical engineering team in various projects.
