About The Position

As a member of the Engineering Team at OnLogic, you will learn some of the rigors and unique design methodologies OnLogic uses to create the world’s most reliable Industrial PCs. You will work alongside Hardware and Design engineers in both lab and digital environments to create schematics, design FPGA logic, and interact with world-class lab instrumentation. In this role, you will be deeply involved in the hardware lifecycle—from the initial circuit design to the integration of complex sensors like high-speed cameras used for machine vision applications. Our Engineering team creates our cutting edge industrial computers by finding innovative solutions on a daily basis. The Engineering team's success relies on collaboration, creative thinking and a commitment to being at the forefront of technology. Roles on our Engineering team include, Hardware, Mechanical, Applications and Regulatory. OnLogic is growing, and we want to give you the same opportunity to grow in your career! We design and manufacture specialized computers and hardware solutions for companies all over the world, helping them to make the seemingly impossible possible. Our computers are designed to work where others would fail, and it's our vision to be the first choice in industrial computing. To make that vision a reality, we've built a team of ambitious problem solvers, guided by the company's core values of Open, Fair, Innovative and Independent. We have an open office, open salaries and strive to be fair and transparent in our decision making. We encourage input and feedback from every member of our team and look to improve ourselves and our business every single day.

Requirements

  • A junior or senior enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in Electrical Engineering.
  • Technical Knowledge: Understanding of digital/analog circuit design and Hardware Description Languages (Verilog or VHDL).
  • Lab Skills: Experience using basic lab equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes) to troubleshoot hardware.
  • Cross-Platform Awareness: Familiarity with hardware requirements for Linux and Windows systems.
  • Work Authorization: Available to work up to 40 hours per week during the semester; ability to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Hardware & Circuit Design: Work with computer hardware, creating and modifying complex schematics and building PCB assemblies for ARM and x86-based platforms.
  • FPGA Design & Debug: Develop and simulate FPGA logic to support custom hardware interfaces and high-speed data acquisition.
  • Sensor Integration: Enable new hardware sensors, such as camera modules, by designing the electrical interfaces and signal paths required for machine vision applications.
  • System Validation: Build and test a wide variety of systems spanning the entire OnLogic portfolio, utilizing a thorough root cause analysis process to tackle hardware circuit flaws and FPGA timing issues.
  • Lab Instrumentation: Collaborate with the Hardware Electrical Engineering team to validate designs using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and spectrum analyzers.
  • Platform Support: Support hardware solutions for Linux and Windows-based industrial systems, ensuring electrical compatibility across different OS environments.
  • Project Ownership: Own a technical project from conception to delivery, including research, circuit design, and physical implementation to enhance our product offerings.
