About The Position

AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Electrical Engineering Intern for immediate employment in the NY metro area, based out of either the office in New York, NY or Bloomfield, NJ. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: Under the direction of a Sr. Electrical Engineer, the successful candidate will perform assignments requiring application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria to carry out engineering tasks. Assignments are designed to further develop judgment and understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Candidates must be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Architecture, or in another related field and must have completed at least 3 years of study. Candidates who have graduated with a Bachelor’s degree and plan to continue with the Master’s degree are eligible to apply for these positions. Graduates must have been enrolled in their bachelor’s degree in the most previous school term with an interest in pursuing an advanced degree in the same or similar discipline at the conclusion of the internship.
  • A solid understanding of Ohm’s Law.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and ability to learn Revit.

Responsibilities

  • Creating electrical plans and details with the use of Revit or AutoCAD.
  • Utilize lighting software to perform lighting calculations.
  • Assist with the electrical design of medium and low voltage power distribution, lighting, lightning protection, and grounding systems.
  • Work on varying project types and sizes including offices, transportation spaces, retail, & federal facilities.
  • Work under supervision of a senior level team member.
