About The Position

RFA Engineering ( www.rfamec.com ) is an engineering service provider dedicated to delivering our clients with timely engineering support and expertise. We are seeking a growth-oriented candidate to become an integral part of our engineering team. The selected candidate will work with an experienced engineering staff using state-of-the-art engineering tools & processes. This position will operate onsite at our customer's world-class engineering and manufacturing facility. Electrical Engineering Technician The Electrical Engineering Technician provides hands-on support to Electrical Engineers with a primary focus in the harness shop environment. This role assists in the assembly, organization, and maintenance of electrical harnesses, tools, and materials while ensuring the shop operates efficiently and safely. The technician plays a key role in translating electrical documentation into physical builds and maintaining inventory and workspace readiness.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or technical diploma in Electrical Technology, Electronics, or related field OR equivalent hands-on experience.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical components such as connectors, terminals, and wiring types.
  • Experience using hand tools, crimp tools, wire strippers, and related assembly tools.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage inventory and maintain accurate records.
  • Comfortable working in a hands-on shop environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience building wire harnesses or cable assemblies.
  • Familiarity with labeling standards and harness documentation practices.
  • Experience with basic electrical testing equipment (multimeter, continuity tester, etc.).
  • Experience supporting engineering prototype builds.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and assembly drawings to support harness builds.
  • Assist with fabrication and assembly of wire harnesses, cable assemblies, and related electrical components.
  • Prepare wires, connectors, terminals, and protective coverings according to specifications.
  • Support engineers with prototype and production harness builds, modifications, and rework.
  • Organize and maintain the harness shop, including tools, workstations, and test equipment.
  • Manage inventory of electrical components, connectors, wiring, and shop supplies.
  • Track material usage and coordinate ordering and restocking of parts and consumables.
  • Label, document, and store completed harnesses and components properly.
  • Perform general shop upkeep including cleaning, material handling, and maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Assist with basic electrical testing such as continuity checks and visual inspections.
  • Follow established quality procedures and safety guidelines.
