About The Position

MMR is seeking Electrical Estimator candidates. The responsibilities would include, but not limited to, the following: Review proposal specifications, customer drawings, and attend pre-bid meetings to understand scope of work and required contents of estimate. Perform material quantity take-off from customer documents, compile project anticipated indirect costs. Evaluate areas for potential value engineering cost savings. Be comfortable soliciting RFQ documents to potential subcontractors supporting main scope of work. Ensure all working documents are maintained in centralized location to ensure latest project file at all times. Develop labor productivity and (installation unit costs per NECA standard) based on projected site conditions and historical data. Prepare detailed listing of material and equipment items for the estimate and to obtain quotes. Responsible for the timely completion of estimates. Draft scope/proposal letters for bid and negotiated projects. Upon award, meet with the site Project Management team to ensure fluid handover process.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and understand electrical drawing packages, specifications or engineering design drawings
  • Experience in electrical and instrumentation construction preferred
  • Experience in commercial / industrial construction is preferred
  • Must have knowledge in estimating, scheduling, and purchasing
  • Experience with Primavera P6 preferred
  • Ability to read and understand a CPM schedule and identify critical paths
  • Work under pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude
  • BS in Construction Management or related field experience
  • At least 3-5 years relevant work experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize, organize, problem solve, and exercise good judgement with minimal supervision
  • Self-motivated, proactive and an effective team player with attention to detail is a must
  • Proficient in using a computer and Microsoft Office (, Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Willingness to work flexible, varying hours, including evenings and some weekends as needed
  • Regular and reliable attendance at work
