About The Position

We are seeking a detail-driven Electrical Estimator to prepare accurate, competitive, and profitable cost estimates for commercial and/or industrial electrical construction projects. This role is responsible for reviewing project plans and specifications, performing quantity takeoffs, developing material and labor budgets, managing vendor pricing, and delivering proposals that align with company margin and risk standards.

Requirements

• 3+ years experience in electrical estimating (commercial/industrial preferred)
• Strong knowledge of NEC and electrical construction practices
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specs
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication and negotiation skills

Nice To Haves

• Electrical field experience preferred but not required

Responsibilities

• Review drawings, specifications, and bid documents
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for labor, materials, and equipment
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing
• Prepare complete cost estimates and proposals
• Ensure estimates meet company gross margin targets
• Submit bids and track results
• Identify scope exclusions and clarifications
• Conduct post-bid analysis and estimate comparisons
• Participate in project handoff meetings to operations
• Track historical cost data for continuous improvement
• Build relationships with key suppliers and subcontractors
• Attend pre-bid meetings and job walks
• Communicate with general contractors and owners during bidding
