About The Position

Hexagon US Federal is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to join our team to design and test advanced instruments. If you are interested in challenging, state-of-the-art designs and cutting-edge technology with commercial and government applications this is the right place for you. The Electrical Hardware Design Engineer must be experienced in designing analog and digital electronics and associated harnessing. The engineer must have hands-on experience working with electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes and multimeters. FPGA design experience is also highly preferred. Tasks will include electronics design along with prototyping, testing, and generating drawings, specifications, and test procedures. The candidate should have design experience for rugged applications and/or NASA space flight programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering
  • At least 10 years of relevant professional electrical engineering experience
  • Strong experience with analog & digital circuit design, debug, and test
  • Experience in schematic capture and PCB Design with Altium Designer toolset
  • Experience with circuit simulation, worst case circuit analysis, and electrical stress analysis
  • VHDL-based FPGA design experience with Xilinx & Microchip devices
  • Hands-on lab experience prototyping, troubleshooting, and debugging circuit boards and subassemblies
  • Experience with high-speed analog and digital interfaces
  • Design history with airborne, space-flight, military, or rugged high-reliability applications
  • Ability to work independently in a self-directed manner and also as part of a team
  • Highly motivated and responsible with a strong desire to learn
  • Strong organizational and verbal & written communication skills
  • US Citizenship
  • Ability to work an onsite work schedule
  • Bachelors or Masters in Electrical Engineering
  • Available 40 hours a week/full-time
  • Located in Lanham, MD
