About The Position

The Electrical Inspector shall be responsible to ensure electrical systems meet safety, quality, and code standards (like the NEC) by conducting TAS site inspections, review drawings, identify violations, issue nonconformances, and prepare reports for residential, commercial, and industrial projects, working with TAS employees to enforce regulations and maintain safety.

Requirements

  • Highly Computer literate in all standard business operating software.
  • Ability to analyze complex data with a variety of variables to solve practical problems where only limited standardization exists.
  • High level of ability to manage a team dynamic and collaborate with junior employees.
  • Provide direct immediate technical support related to quality management processes and philosophies.
  • Ability to produce high quality results using autonomy.
  • High School Diploma/GED with some specialized training.
  • Inspector Certification
  • 2-5 years in electrical inspection (journeyman-level electrical) experience
  • International Code Council (ICC) Electrical Inspector certification or equivalent.
  • Strong communication (written and verbal), attention to detail, problem-solving, and time management
  • Effective working knowledge of applicable codes and/or requirements: NEC/IEC

Responsibilities

  • Assist in ensuring the ongoing integrity of the quality management system (ISO 9001:2015, AISC, NEC, etc.) through internal auditing or as directed.
  • Visit all TAS sites to inspect electrical assembly including wiring, panels, and equipment.
  • Verify compliance with the National Electrical Code (NEC), local ordinances, and approved specifications.
  • Examine electrical drawings, plans, and specifications before and during assembly.
  • Detect faulty wiring, incorrect materials, or non-compliant assembly.
  • Create nonconformances for violations.
  • Prepare details reports, maintain records and document work performed.
  • Respond to inquiries and provide technical guidance TAS personnel.
  • Investigate reports of unpermitted or unsafe electrical work.
  • Verify workmanship quality.
  • Creating technical reports for internal use.
  • Apply sound judgment to resolve complex electrical compliance issues.
  • Taking initiative to attend training and broaden skills in new electrical technologies.
  • Responsible for code compliance
  • Responsible for the administration and implementation of the quality control system.
  • Ensure all final inspections have been obtained prior to project close out.
  • Exercise the authority to halt work on nonconforming work and activities.
  • Any other tasks assigned by TAS Energy.
