​​​S&B is currently seeking an Electrical Superintendent with senior craft leadership, accountable for execution of construction work within an assigned discipline or area on construction projects. Requirements

  • Should have a minimum of 3 - 8 years of experience related to construction supervision, such as Area General Foreman or General Foreman.
  • Must be able to effectively manage projects that range in varying size and complexity.
  • Must have sound knowledge of cost and schedule adherence.
  • Additionally, must possess the skills to employ tact, diplomacy and influence.
  • Must possess the required skills to understand and manage the inter-working relationships between various craft trades (including sub-contractors), and the ability to anticipate and implement corrective actions to limit potential labor-related disputes.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, is required for effective communication, reporting, and documentation.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Teams is required, including participation in virtual meetings, collaboration through chat and channels, document sharing, and coordination with distributed project teams.
  • Ability to effectively use digital tools to support project coordination, reporting, scheduling updates, and communication across engineering, procurement, construction, and client teams.
  • Comfort working in a technology-enabled construction environment, including use of laptops, tablets, and mobile devices to access drawings, schedules, procedures, and project data.
  • Willingness to adapt to evolving company systems, software platforms, and digital workflows as project and business needs change.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret engineering design drawings, technical procedures and specifications, governmentregulations, business correspondence and manuals.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedures.
  • Ability to communicate directions effectively verbally to craft supervisors and respond to questions from clients, managers, and fellow workers.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations
  • Conduct work in operating facilities and/or construction sites. This requires the ability to hear, as well as the ability to stand, walk, reach, climb and balance, clear close and distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus. Lifting to 50 pounds may be required.
  • The normal work environment will be a field office with moderate noise. May visit or be assigned to an operating plant and reside in an office on-site for the duration of a project. This may require exposure to outdoor weather conditions, loud noise, work near moving mechanical parts, electrical energy, construction equipment, vibration, fumes, chemicals, and airborne particles.
  • This position requires the ability and willingness to travel and work on project sites located away from the employee’s home base, including extended assignments for the duration of project execution.
  • Project assignments may require temporary relocation, rotational schedules, or extended work weeks based on project needs, contract requirements, and execution priorities.
  • Travel may include domestic and/or international assignments, depending on project scope and business requirements.
  • The employee expected to remain flexible and responsive to changing project locations and schedules, consistent with business needs.
  • Travel and per diem arrangements, if applicable, will be administered in accordance with company policies and project-specific requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Reports to the assigned Project Superintendent, or defined hierarchy of the project organizational structure.
  • Administratively reports to the VP of Field Operations.
  • Coordinate assigned electrical construction activities with other crafts, disciplines, departments, and contractors to support safe, efficient, and sequenced execution.
  • Maintain coordination with Engineering, Estimating, Planning, and Scheduling to align electrical work with approved drawings, specifications, budgets, and schedules.
  • Develop, maintain, and manage three-week look-ahead schedules to support workface readiness and electrical construction sequencing.
  • Plan and coordinate daily and weekly electrical work activities, ensuring manpower, materials, equipment, and access are aligned with scheduled execution.
  • Support resolution of electrical execution challenges, including productivity, interface conflicts, constructability issues, and energization constraints.
  • Promote compliance with employment laws and company policies, including EEOC requirements, and report concerns per company procedures.
  • Coordinate with Legal and Human Resources, as directed, in support of labor relations and workforce-related matters.
  • Request electrical craft manpower through established staffing processes and coordinate training needs as required.
  • Monitor and reinforce compliance with project electrical safety processes and certifications/licensing; support corrective actions in coordination with Safety and project leadership.
  • Coordinate with Material Control, Purchasing, Quality Control, Engineering, and Commissioning to support electrical installation, testing, and turnover.
  • Provide input into labor performance metrics, including composite labor rates and productivity measures.
