Construction Management is responsible for supervising and coordinating all on-site construction activities through the installation on a project or multiple projects. Monitors safety, quality, and schedule in the field, while providing technical expertise and ensuring work in place meets the quality requirements of contract documents, applicable codes, and Disney standards. Coordinates and interfaces with all WDI Studios, DLR / WDW Operations and Security, contractors, vendors, and governmental agencies. Construction Management is the primary responsible Studio for everything that happens on WDI construction projects, including all impact to Operations. The Electrical Superintendent is responsible for supervising and coordinating all on-site construction activities through installation on a project or multiple projects. Monitors quality and safety in the field. Provides technical expertise and ensures work in place meets the quality requirements of contract documents, applicable codes, and Disney standards. Coordinate and work with contractors, operations, vendors, and governmental agencies. They will ensure that all team members are meeting the schedule, budget, and quality requirements outlined in the project scope, and will effectively manage and mitigate issues that arise internally or on the client side. This is a Project Hire / Internal Assignment with no guarantee of permanent placement. This role will report to a General Superintendent +/or Construction Manager. This role is based on site in Lake Buena Vista, FL
Requirements
- Minimum 7 years outside field experience in applicable site development (attractions, commercial, residential, retail, or resort development projects) or 5-7 years WDI project field experience relevant to the area.
- High school degree or equivalent + 2 years of undergraduate schooling in the related field of construction
Responsibilities
- Takes the lead on ensuring work in the field meets quality requirements of contract documents, applicable codes, and to WDI / DX / Worldwide Safety Standards
- Manages the safety program in close coordination with WDI / DX / Worldwide Safety
- Provides constructability analysis and value engineering recommendations
- Prepares a daily log of contractor work activities and compares against the contractor's daily reports
- Tracks personnel on site, equipment used, and progress
- Verifies existing site conditions against design documents
- Reviews and approves progress payment requisitions
- Manages commissioning through turnover acceptance
- Reviews, approves, and manages adherence of contractor QA/QC program
- Drives critical path, schedule, KSMs, and Milestone compliance — elevates to leaders as needed
- Facilitates contractor coordination with DX entities and related project WDI direct contractors and/or vendors (RCID, RCES, COA, Intertek PSI, Pest Management, Key Control/Locksmith Services, WDW / DLR warehouses, FAM, BVCC, retail, LOB's, etc.)
