About The Position

The Electrical Supervisor position at the City of Tucson’s General Services Department supervises staff to include hiring, training, organizing, and evaluating work of employees engaged in the repair, modification, and maintenance of public facilities, materials, equipment, and supplies. Work is performed under the supervision of the Facilities Management Superintendent. This position exercises supervision over electrical personnel.

Requirements

  • Education: Six (6) months post high school
  • Experience: Two (2) years of directly related experience.
  • Equivalency: Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
  • A valid and unrestricted driver’s license with two (2) years of licensed driving is required

Responsibilities

  • Supervises and oversees the daily work of employees and coordinates personnel-related activities to include, but not limited to: training, approving work schedules, recommending and approving personnel actions, coaching and counseling, establishing performance goals, and writing performance evaluations.
  • Oversees estimates, contractors, and project progress while facilitating communication between all stakeholders.
  • Orders materials, assesses work quality, and participates in the facility design and review process.
  • Coordinates schedules and communicates outages to minimize disruptions.
  • Assembles, installs, tests, or maintains electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, or fixtures, using hand tools or power tools.
  • Performs all other duties and tasks as assigned.
