About The Position

Installs and repairs electrical components on Keeneland's grounds and updates current electrical facilities by performing the following duties. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

Tech school degree or a completed 4 year apprenticeship in the electrical field plus 2 to 3 years of related experience.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Journeyman Electrical License, driver's license, and a Kentucky Horse Racing Authority License.
Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Ability to stand; walk; and use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
Ability to reach with hands and arms.
Ability to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and depth perception.

Responsibilities

Installs and maintains all grounds lighting.
Installs and maintains all electric heaters in tack rooms and dorms.
Installs and maintains all data cables for tote system.
Services, updates, and maintains all electrical systems (120volts-480volts) in the barns, grandstands, sales pavilions, outbuildings, and temporary structures.
Lays out wiring systems during sales, races, and special events.
Available to be put On Call when needed.
