About The Position

Would you like to contribute to the protection of the environment and the operational reliability of our pipeline systems by maintaining all electrical aspects of the pipeline? The role of our Electrical Technician focuses preventative maintenance and repairs with little or no interruption to service. What you will do: Understand and adhere to safety policies and procedures and demonstrate good judgement when assessing the ability to perform work safely. At minimum, maintain all required training, and OQ’s and technical competencies to perform maintenance, repair and/or replacement of complex electrical and instrumentation equipment. Independently troubleshoot, perform preventative maintenance, repair and/or replacement of electrical equipment with the intent to operate facilities at optimum efficiency. Assist with complex tasks that may require guidance from a higher-level Technician, Specialist, or Supervisor Willing to learn the operation of more complex equipment and procedures. Perform per Enbridge maintenance plans, assume duties in an after-hours on call rotation, document work status in the maintenance database, and support other work teams and regional work as required. Provide justification for replacement of equipment, acquire components, and contribute to inventory control. Assess, mentor, and provide coaching to less experienced technicians. Ensure regional objectives are kept in the forefront of day-to-day operations with safety and performance of tasks critical to attainment of goals established for the region. Provide feedback in project design reviews as needed. Responsible for performing equipment inspections, DOT inspections, and completing related documentation. Ensures all pertinent records are accurate and current, and that preventative maintenance schedules are performed in a timely manner. Participate in Emergency Response and assist when requested. Familiar with computer operations; Windows, spreadsheets, PowerPoint, Microsoft Office, email, etc.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Excellent trouble shooting ability.
  • Valid driver’s license & clear driving record.
  • Must live (or relocate) within 25 miles of the reporting location.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical or Vocational education
  • Electrical Journeyman or participation in an accredited Apprenticeship Program
  • Industrial experience with HVAC/R
  • Experience in maintenance of crude oil pipeline system, pumping station(s) or delivery facilities or certified technical designation.
  • Familiarity with pertinent equipment (pumps, motors, valves, switchgear, flow meters, programmable logic controls, motor control centers, uninterruptible power supplies and instrumentation).
