Work Shift: Second Shift - Manchester (United States of America) Work Shift Time: 2:45 PM - 10:45 PM Job Objective: Perform skilled electrical maintenance and repairs on machinery, equipment and systems in an industrial manufacturing environment with ability to perform mechanical Repairs and maintenance as needed.

Requirements

  • Minimum Required: Five years of electrical and controls experience in an industrial manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge and experience with PLC’s, AC and DC drives and other industrial control components and devices.
  • Good mechanical aptitude and experience with mechanical machine maintenance and repair
  • Ability to read and understand electrical and mechanical diagrams and drawings.
  • Good electrical craftsmanship – ability to bend pipe/conduit and perform quality installation of electrical systems and components.
  • Proficient technical skills including ability to utilize electrical meters, calibration devices and other electrical monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Basic computer skills or ability and willingness to learn
  • Good decision making skills and ability to prioritize tasks

Nice To Haves

  • Journeyman’s Electrician license
  • AS Degree in a technical discipline
  • Experience with CMMS or PM/Work Order Tracking system(s)
  • Experience with Allen-Bradley controls and programs

Responsibilities

  • Performs maintenance and repairs on all machinery, equipment and systems in the Plant. This includes adjustments, calibrations, troubleshooting, installations, monitoring and other duties required to minimize machinery and equipment downtime without compromising Workmanship and quality.
  • Develops and maintains a comprehensive knowledge of the electrical service and distribution systems in the Plant and performs work necessary to provide electrical service to new and relocated machinery and equipment including the planning and layout of Conduit, wiring and other electrical devices and materials.
  • Develops and maintains a comprehensive knowledge of the electrical controls and devices utilized on Plant equipment, machinery and systems including, but not limited to, PLC’s, AC and DC drives, motor controllers, positioning devices and motion control systems.
  • Develops and maintains PM and PdM programs for plant machinery and equipment with a focus on electrical and control systems. Assists with coordinating and performing PM and PdM tasks.
  • Performs basic wiring/rewiring under the guidance of a licensed electrician or design prints for pre-engineered systems. Installs/replaces all electrical/electronic components.
  • Completes all necessary paperwork related to job functions including, but not limited to, work orders, inventory, shift notes, time sheets, records, logs and purchasing documents.
  • Participates in developing, expanding and maintaining the spare parts and stock inventory system. Orders parts and materials and communicates with suppliers and vendor technical representatives as needed.
  • Assists and cooperates with Engineering Departments for equipment and/or facility modifications and upgrades. . Coordinates, directs and monitors work performed by contractors as needed.
  • Responsible for supporting the Policy Commitments of the ISO 14001 Environmental Health Management Systems. This includes identifying, developing and implementing continuous improvement projects that meet the Policy Commitment Objectives.
  • Responsible for reducing and minimizing wastes wherever possible, for ensuring the correct disposal of recyclable materials, for following established environmental Maintain the chemical storage area(s) and/or waste storage area(s) in a clean and orderly manner. Packages, labels, and prepares wastes for storage and transportation as requested. Inspects the facility and equipment regularly, notifies appropriate personnel of any incidents or occurrences that may trigger implementation of the Contingency Plan. May perform additional emergency response activities, including assisting in stopping or containing a release, as directed by the emergency coordinator.
  • Responsible for maintaining a safe work environment in accordance with all company Safety Procedures and OSHA regulations. Move chemicals and or waste within the facility. All other duties as requested. Notifies appropriate personnel of any incidents or situations that would trigger implementation of the contingency plan. May perform emergency response duties as required by the department supervisor or manager. Move chemicals and or wastes within the facility and maintain chemical storage areas in a clean, orderly manner. Follows applicable Environmental Health and Safety department procedures.
