Together, let’s redefine what is possible in orbit and beyond! Terran Orbital is seeking a motivated Electrical Test Engineering Intern to join our dynamic team. Reporting to the Test & Sustaining Engineering Manager – EPS, the Electrical Test Engineering Intern will support our Electrical Power System component and module team by contributing to the development, modernization, and automation of electrical test systems that support critical spacecraft hardware. This internship offers hands-on experience working with real aerospace test equipment, automated data collection tools, and engineering workflows. You’ll collaborate with experienced engineers, gain exposure to complex test setups, and help improve how we validate performance, reliability, and quality of flight hardware.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
  • Able to work full time, onsite in Irvine, CA for 8 – 12 weeks starting in June 2026 (no relocation stipend, must be local).
  • Foundational understanding of electronics, power systems, circuits, and instrumentation.
  • Experience with Python or another programming language used for automation or data acquisition.
  • Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and collaborate effectively with engineering teams.
  • Enthusiasm for learning new tools, technologies, and automated test methodologies.
  • U.S. Person or lawful permanent resident to comply with U.S. government space technology export regulations

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with laboratory test equipment (power supplies, loads, oscilloscopes, simulators, etc.) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development, improvement, and automation of electrical test processes and tools.
  • Assist in controlling, monitoring, and logging data from various test instruments and devices under test.
  • Help integrate instrumentation interfaces into cohesive automated test sequences.
  • Contribute to generating standardized reports, documentation, and data summaries for test results.
  • Collaborate with EPS engineers to troubleshoot test setups and ensure accurate measurements.
  • Prepare presentations and documentation that communicate progress, findings, and test results to engineering stakeholders.
  • Maintain clear, organized documentation of test procedures, scripts, and software interfaces.
