Position Summary We are seeking a reliable and skilled Electrician to join our team at the Palm Beach County Convention Center on a part-time basis. This position offers flexibility, requiring one workday per week with the hours and day of the week negotiable based on availability and the needs of the facility. The ideal candidate will be responsible for general electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs within the convention center, ensuring that all electrical systems are operating safely and efficiently. This role pays an hourly wage of $25.00 to 27.00 Benefits for part-time roles: 401(k) savings plan and 401(k) matching. This position will remain open until June 5, 2026.

Requirements

  • Valid Electrician's License or Certification in the state of Florida.
  • Previous experience working as an electrician, preferably in commercial or large facility settings.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and safety procedures.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Flexibility in scheduling (able to work one day per week with varying hours).
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other team members.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on electrical systems within the Palm Beach County Convention Center, with a primary focus on ensuring all light bulbs are operational.
  • Inspect and replace faulty or burnt-out light bulbs throughout the facility.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues in lighting, wiring, circuit breakers, and other electrical components
  • Ensure compliance with local electrical codes and safety standards.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
  • Respond to urgent electrical issues in a timely manner.
  • Assist with setting up temporary electrical connections for events when required.
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed and materials used.
