About The Position

The Maintenance Electrician supports manufacturing operations by troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems and equipment throughout the Ovid manufacturing plant. Candidates must be able to perform a variety of electrical maintenance duties in a fast-paced production environment. Production Equipment Repair Motor testing, maintenance, and repair. Conduit piping installation and repair Control valve calibration, testing, maintenance, and repaid Plant instrumentation calibration, testing, maintenance, and repair Variable speed drive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair Control system troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair Production Utility Systems Repair Steam electrical control system troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair. Compressed air control system troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair. Well, Process, and Soft Water control system troubleshooting, maintenance, repair. Refrigeration control system troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair. Chemical control system troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair Plant Electrical System Repair Safely use of electrical test equipment for troubleshooting and monitoring of plant electrical systems Proper use of electrical personal protective equipment, such as gloves, grounding straps, etc....

Requirements

  • Must possess and maintain a current State of Michigan Journeyman Electrician license or Master Electrician
  • Must be able and willing to attend continuous training and improvement courses as assigned or provided
  • Awareness of and compliance with all HACCP, USDA, FDA, SQF, MDA, GMP, and Food Safety Standards.
  • Attend training both on and off site as required and train new operators as necessary. This does include the training of new employees for their internal qualification and refresher training
  • Perform other duties, as assigned
  • The performance of these essential job functions will also entail potential exposure to industrial cleaning and water treatment chemicals, permit required confined spaces, and ammonia, and fuel gases
  • Ability to work any shift, weekend, or holidays (our plantsoperate24/7). Reliable and consistent attendance required
  • Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check
  • Highschool Diploma or General Education Degree required
  • Follow good manufacturing practices regulations, which require gloves, hairnets, shoe covers and uniforms in working areas. Personal cleanliness is necessary to prevent product contamination
  • Complies with all applicable food safety regulations and mandates (Safe Quality Foods, Food & Drug Admin, Pasteurized Milk Ordinance)
  • Ability to constantly stand/walk and to frequently bend/flex/twist/squat/carry for an8-hourshift. Repetitive movements and tasks. Ability to life, move, slide, and situate 55 pounds routinely
  • Safely handle cleaning products and chemicals
  • Ability to read and understand standards operating procedures in a team environment
  • Walking distance as much as1000 feet
  • Climbing stairs or ladders as much as 100 feet above ground, and bending, twisting, and standing for periods of up to 5 minutes collecting data
  • Walking on wet floors and/or cat walks, lifting, carrying, and/or pulling as much as 80 pounds
  • Perform other duties, as assigned

  • Prior experience in manufacturing or dairy is preferred
