Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. A technical apprenticeship or Associate’s in an electrical/mechanical field is preferred; equivalent hands-on experience may substitute.
  • 2+ years in a technician role handling equipment repairs and preventative maintenance.
  • Experience documenting in a regulated environment (e.g., medical device) is a plus.
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings and electrical prints; strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills; PLC troubleshooting familiarity.
  • Knowledge of OSHA requirements; proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Equipment troubleshooting; electrical/electronic systems; electrical schematics
  • Mechanical troubleshooting; pneumatics; hydraulics
  • Motor replacement, repair, and maintenance
  • Excellent communication; shop math; basic computer skills
  • High School / GED

Nice To Haves

  • cGMP understanding; clean room experience; robot programming/troubleshooting (SCARA, FANUC, Staubli, IAI); servo systems; injection molding (electric and hydraulic).

Responsibilities

  • Partner within cross-functional teams (Operations Technicians and Engineers) to reduce downtime and maximize line throughput.
  • Diagnose, repair, and document mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues on high-speed production systems.
  • Troubleshoot and, when possible, diagnose PLC and HMI control system software problems.
  • Execute and record preventative maintenance activities.
  • Communicate equipment status, actions taken, and follow-ups to the next shift and to supervisors/management.
  • Assist with offline rebuilds and pre-work for equipment improvements.
  • Support plant manufacturing equipment under the direction of the Plant Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Be able to work the Bausch + Lomb twelve-hour rotational schedule; minimal travel may be required for builds/integration or training.
