EEG certification - Registration is offered by the American Board of Registration of EEG, CNIM and EP Technologists (ABRET) or the American Association of Electrodiagnostic Techs (AAET). Knowledge of JCAHO and other regulatory requirements. Previous experience with the VA is a plus. What does a typical day look like for the Seattle Electroencephalography Technologist? You will: Monday - Friday 7:00 to 3:30 pm or 7:30-4:00 pm Independently perform: Routine and non-standard procedures. (EEG and EP). These include Awake, Sleep, Portable, and ECS. Routine and specialized procedures. Routine long-term monitoring, LTM/CCTV – EEG monitoring. These include extended 10/20 electrode placement. Perform as an expert EEG technologist, maintaining state-of-the-art quality in the principles, practices, and procedures associated with Electroencephalography. Perform high-quality studies for complex and non-routine procedures in demanding environments such as the operating room, research settings, or intensive care units. Report specific patient outcome information, such as complications, to the Service Line Chief. All testing performed requires online analysis by the technologist to obtain the necessary data for the correct diagnosis of the patient. Work closely with the physicians from the Neurology Service and the Epilepsy Center of Excellence. Utilize sophisticated equipment and associated electronics to obtain continuous video-EEG monitoring in patients with undiagnosed spells. Follows established laboratory and/or hospital guidelines in completing “administrative duties” for each test performed. What qualifications do you look for?
