Position Summary As an Electromechanical Technician, you will be a key part of our manufacturing team, performing assembly, testing, and troubleshooting of advanced electromechanical systems. The role requires proficiency in both electrical and mechanical assembly and troubleshooting skills. You will play an integral role in ensuring the production of high-quality robotic test equipment that meets our rigorous standards. This position is full time and on site at our Markham, Ontario headquarters with work hours from 9am – 5pm Monday through Friday with overtime as required with notice. This critical role supports the Acculogic business which is housed in the Electronic Test division of inTEST Corporation.

Requirements

  • 3 to 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong understanding of electrical schematics and blueprints.
  • Experience with electrical panel wiring and soldering techniques.
  • Proficient in assembling shielded cables using crimping and soldering methods.
  • Hands-on experience with soldering components onto PCBs.
  • Basic mechanical assembly experience is an asset.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot both electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Attention to detail and high standards for quality control.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment is preferred, but training will be provided.
  • Electrical Certificate or degree preferred.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time throughout the workday.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly as part of the assembly process.
  • Requires manual dexterity to handle small components and tools, including soldering and crimping.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, and reach as necessary to perform assembly tasks.
  • Frequent use of hands for assembly, wiring, and other technical tasks.
  • Ability to climb ladders or step stools to access elevated areas as part of the assembly or installation process.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret electrical schematics to support assembly, wiring, and troubleshooting of equipment.
  • Perform electrical panel wiring, ensuring proper connections, organization, and quality standards.
  • Assemble shielded cables using crimp and solder terminals, following strict guidelines for quality and reliability.
  • Solder leads onto printed circuit boards (PCBs), ensuring precision and minimizing defects.
  • Conduct basic mechanical assembly of components, including assembling subassemblies and integrating them into larger systems.
  • Assist in the testing and calibration of finished products, ensuring they meet performance specifications.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve electrical and mechanical issues as they arise during the production process.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, adhering to company safety guidelines.
  • Collaborate with other team members and departments to meet production goals and deadlines.
  • Provide feedback to supervisors and management on process improvements and equipment issues.
