We are seeking a commercial or industrial Electronic Security Technician to join our federal team based in Norfolk, VA. We help modernize U.S. military installations, Department of Defense and other federal agency facilities to be smarter, more resilient, efficient, sustainable, and secure. Location: Norfolk, VA. All work is based at one federal government site in the area. No additional travel required. Pay range: $25.00 - $38.00 per hour. Negotiable based on experience. Shift: Primarily day shift, flexible start time between 7:00-8:00am until 4:00-5:00pm, Monday-Friday Benefits: Eligible for benefits on first day of employment Vacation: 3 weeks of paid vacation, 5 sick days, 3 floating holidays and 10 standard holidays per calendar year (6.5 weeks in total) As an Electronic Security Technician , you will: Conducts primarily installation work with some maintenance and service of commercial Electronic Security Systems (ESS) to include, but not limited to, access controls, intrusion detection, and camera systems. Specific systems include, but not limited to: Genetec, SoftwareHouse C-cure 9000, Lenel, DMP, Bosch, Exacqvision, MDI and American Dynamics. Installs security devices and infrastructure at times in accordance with installation plan according to the national electric code, company and customer guidelines Assists with security system programming and setup at times. Conducts testing to ensure proper operation of equipment after installation or repairs Conducts testing of system to the signal-receiving center to properly establish service. Coordinates installations with police/fire departments and handles necessary records for notification of emergency calls. May help prepare estimates in accordance with prescribed instructions or directions from supervisor Conduct End-User training. Works safely and responsibly to avoid injuries, damage to property, loss of unused materials and cleans up installation debris. Performs other duties as required
