About The Position

Thales is looking for an Electronics Repair Technician III, whose role involves utilizing your extensive technical expertise to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electronic equipment to high-quality standards. In this position, you will lead by example, overseeing daily shop activities, optimizing repair processes, and managing consumables to ensure operational efficiency and consistency. You will also mentor and provide expert guidance to Tech I and Tech II technicians, supporting their technical development while reinforcing best practices and quality expectations. Your leadership, attention to detail, and advanced problem-solving abilities play a critical role in achieving production goals, maintaining compliance, and upholding Thales’ quality standards.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of six (6) years of experience in electronics repair, including Level 3 component repair experience. And minimum of four (4) years of experience working in a 145 FAA-regulated environment.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, maintain, and repair complex electronic and mechanical systems to ensure optimal functionality, and prepare detailed technical reports with recommendations for improvements and documentation updates.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior technicians, facilitating skill development and knowledge transfer, while documenting detailed service reports, system diagnostics, and maintenance records for accurate tracking and analysis.
  • Demonstrate exceptional attention to detail, commitment to safety, understanding and implementation of 5S principles, and strong verbal and written communication skills; must speak, read, and write English fluently.
  • Must be an appropriate organizational fit for the Thales culture and values, maintain regular attendance and punctuality, present a professional appearance, and be legally eligible to work in the country where the position is located.
  • Must have U.S. or Dual Citizenship (with U.S. being one of the citizenships) and be able to obtain post-hire Public Trust Security Clearance from the Department of Homeland Security.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize extensive technical expertise to independently diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electronic equipment in accordance with high-quality standards and customer specifications; act as a mentor and provide expert guidance to Tech I and Tech II technicians; and lead chronic investigations and return reviews.
  • Actively oversee daily shop performance by identifying and addressing root causes of issues, assigning and coordinating work plans to meet production, training, and operational goals, and maintaining accurate equipment status records for efficient tracking.
  • Collaborate with the Operations team to drive process improvements and implement lean concepts, proactively identifying opportunities to enhance repair procedures and documentation.
  • Lead material shortage assessments and propose effective solutions to minimize operational disruptions.
  • Manage shop consumable inventory, including ordering, disposal, and compliance; ensure the Chemical Cabinet is properly maintained and monitor supplies to prevent shortages.
  • Assume supervisory responsibilities in the Lead’s absence, coordinate tasks and protocols effectively, lead meetings with the Team Lead to provide updates and strategic input, and conduct regular team meetings to review KPI performance, objectives, and escalation needs while fostering a cohesive work environment.
