About The Position

BFS Electronics Repair Technicians (ER Techs) are given the opportunity to explore and support a variety of areas in electronic and electo-mechanical components at an aviation company. BFS ER Techs need a problem solving mindset and have flight critical workmanship responsibilities spanning from flight control computers to aircraft electronics accessories. This position requires excellent problem solving skills, a firm grabs on electronic and microelectronic component repair and installation and methodical attention to detail. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO): - Accomplish repairs as part of a FAA Repair Station, under an AS9110 accredited quality system on internal and customer electronic components - Assist with developing new repairs methods and component capabilities - Ensure compliance when applicable with repair criteria or other published limitations

Requirements

  • Electronics testing & diagnostic skills
  • Familiarity with multimeter and other basic electronic equipment
  • Willingnes to work with legacy electronics equipment (1970’s & 1980’s resistor, transducers, and other microelectronics technology)
  • Ability to work as part of a team when required and independently as needed
  • Ability to read and understand electronic and logic schematics / diagrams
  • Ability follow detailed technical instructions and comply with specific requirements and policies
  • Willings and desire to learn new skills and seek out opportunities for professional experience and growth
  • Awareness of and compliance with Electro-Static Discharge Requirements
  • Two years of working with electronics and associated diagnostics and/or repairs
  • Demonstratable, consistent, high quality soldering skills (IPC-J-STD-001 certification preferred)
  • Valid US drivers license
  • US citizenship required

Nice To Haves

  • Passion for aviation
  • Experience working on electronic aviation equipment
  • Hands-on experience working in an audited quality environment
  • Experience with 14 CFR Part 43 and 145 regulations
  • Professional experience in a AS9110 / AS9100 / ISO 9001 environment
