About The Position

Electrophysiology Technologist – Maryview Medical Center Job Summary: The Electrophysiology Technologist functions as a scrub tech, circulator and/or monitors patients for electrophysiology procedures under the direction of a cardiologist. Analyzes and interprets collected procedural data, provides effective patient care at all acuity levels. Assists in precepting new employees and students to department’s organization and function. Maintains inventory and charges appropriately for procedures, performs all procedures per protocol, participates in quality assurance and performance improvement programs as requested. Equitable participation in call coverage required if applicable to site. Essential Functions: Age-Appropriate Competency: The employee is able to demonstrate general competency in providing Age-Appropriate Care as indicated by the ability to plan, provide and evaluate care based on the physiological, psychosocial, intellectual and safety developmental needs of the patient. Utilizes appropriate processes and documents in accordance with The Joint Commission and other regulatory standards for each patient admitted, transferred or discharged for the invasive procedural area. Demonstrates ability to provide comprehensive care to patients. Demonstrates the ability to function in all roles of the electrophysiology laboratory (scrub, monitor, and circulate). Function as a qualified team member (QTM) in the administration of moderate sedation under the direct supervision of the physician where applicable. Requirements

  • Completion of Cardiovascular Technology program (preferred)
  • BLS Basic Life Support
  • ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support or PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support (preferred at hire, must obtain from approved source prior to direct patient care; ACLS or PALS required based on specialty assignment)
  • Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist or Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist with experience in Electrophysiology (required)
