About The Position

Elementary Principal – Francis Wyman Elementary School The Burlington Public Schools seeks outstanding applicants for the position of Principal at Francis Wyman Elementary School serving approximately 500 students in grades K through 5. Burlington is a diverse, supportive, and community-oriented town located about thirteen miles northwest of Boston. The Burlington Public Schools consists of 1 high school (9-12), 1 middle school (6-8), 4 elementary schools (K-5), and the Burlington Early Childhood Center. Applicants must possess the following attributes: ability to recruit, interview, hire, supervise, evaluate and retain highly qualified educators be highly motivated and organized individual with the ability to manage many demands of building ability to use data to promote student growth have experience in providing highly effective professional development to a very strong and committed staff explore innovative, dynamic, and creative teaching practices as well as resources and programs that accelerate student learning demonstrated commitment to developing cultural competence and the ability to advance the district’s goal of acknowledging and celebrating diversity within our community promote inclusive practices for all learners work closely with parent/teacher organization to form a community partnership all other responsibilities as assigned by the Superintendent of Schools Educational Leadership: leads with integrity, courage, vision, hope, and compassion responsible for cultivating and maintaining a positive school culture services as the school site leader, the primary liaison between the school and Administrative Offices makes decisions based on sound educational principles communicates the school and district vision, goals, needs, and accomplishments to students, school personnel, families, and the community Qualifications/Requirements: hold or be eligible for a valid principal’s certification as an Elementary School Principal issued by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education Master’s Degree or CAGS minimum of 5 years in public education, including teaching and administrative experience Compensation: Salary and benefits will be competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications. Requirements

  • hold or be eligible for a valid principal’s certification as an Elementary School Principal issued by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education
  • Master’s Degree or CAGS
  • minimum of 5 years in public education, including teaching and administrative experience
