About The Position

Current Michigan Teaching Certification with endorsement in Autism (SV) as specified by the Michigan Department of Education and highly qualified per ESSA. Plan, implement, and assess individualized lessons based on students’ unique learning needs and IEP goals. Foster a positive classroom environment that encourages social interaction, communication, and academic growth. Work closely with special education staff, parents, and other professionals to coordinate services and support for students. Monitor student progress, provide regular updates to families, and adjust instructional strategies as necessary. Utilize behavioral management techniques and strategies to promote positive behavior and social skills development. Support students in the development of self-regulation, emotional, and social skills through structured interventions. Strong understanding of behavior management techniques and strategies. Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students. Experience working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and/or other developmental disabilities (preferred). Experience working with elementary-age students (preferred). Demonstrate ability to support the concept of full inclusion for students with disabilities. Perform all case-manager duties related to the IEP process. Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with colleagues, parents, and students. Ukeru and/or CPI training is preferred.
