About the position

Our client, a nationally recognized leader in post-secondary education and a top provider of healthcare professionals, is seeking an Email Marketing Copywriter with a focus on AI integration. To support this channel, we're seeking a creative, forward-thinking individual who can integrate email copywriting skills with generative artificial intelligence to enhance the student experience and drive enrollment growth. This role has the potential to convert to a permanent opportunity with our client and requires 4 days onsite in downtown Chicago.

Responsibilities

  • Craft nurture streams, promotional emails, and relational emails (e.g., welcome series, alumni communications).
  • Align messaging with campaign objectives and target audience.
  • Utilize generative AI tools for content ideation and drafting. Experience with Writer.ai is a bonus.
  • Stay up-to-date on trends in AI-assisted content creation and marketing.
  • Collaborate with creative, marketing, and CRM teams.
  • Collaborate with senior copywriters and senior editor to ensure that the copy aligns with each brand's style, voice, and tone guidelines.
  • Contribute to A/B testing strategies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in email marketing copywriting.
  • Strong understanding of email marketing strategies.
  • Proficiency in using generative AI tools.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in English, Communications, Journalism, Marketing or a related field Required.
  • Three (3) plus years of relevant work experience, preferably in a copywriting or editorial role.
  • Strong portfolio of email campaigns.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to proofread and edit your own work.
  • Familiarity with SEO best practices and how to write for search engines.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven capacity to quickly understand and write about healthcare and higher education in an engaging and straightforward manner.
  • An exceptional portfolio, demonstrating versatility and range, and the style of content that would appeal to our current and prospective students and partners.
  • Demonstrated awareness of B2C and B2B copywriting approaches, and knowledge of legal issues involved in publishing.
  • Ability to find new and creative ways to present information.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Secondary experience with social media and digital writing.
