Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline (Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering preferred) from an ABET-accredited university
  • Active DoD Secret clearance or higher (required)
  • Embedded systems development within military or automotive environments
  • Strong proficiency in C, C++, C#, Java, or Rust (embedded focus preferred)
  • Low-level development in Linux or VxWorks, including OS internals
  • Experience developing Linux or VxWorks device drivers
  • Board Support Packages (BSP) and hardware/software integration
  • Implementation of cybersecurity measures for embedded systems, including firewall integration
  • Experience with reverse engineering and software analysis
  • Knowledge of network protocols and communication interfaces (TCP/IP, UART, SPI, I2C)
  • Experience supporting the full SDLC, including architecture, requirements decomposition, integration, and testing
  • Familiarity with IDEs, version control systems, defect tracking tools, scripting, and CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience interpreting customer requirements and translating into technical implementations
  • Familiarity with electrical Line Replaceable Units (LRUs) and hardware troubleshooting
  • Must satisfy anthropometric size restrictions for access to military vehicles and be able to climb vehicles and pass through hatches
  • Flexibility to work non-duty hours or weekends as required

Responsibilities

  • Apply computer science, engineering, and mathematical principles to develop software for target hardware platforms
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to define hardware/software interfaces and system performance requirements
  • Participate in all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC): requirements, architecture, design, implementation, integration, and formal testing
  • Develop and maintain software tools, scripts, and XML configuration files to implement and verify system configurations
  • Perform software engineering activities in accordance with accreditation and configuration control requirements
  • Design and implement data/message protocol transformation mechanisms to enable interoperability across secure data-sharing domains
  • Develop software within a Security-Enhanced Embedded Linux environment
  • Conduct peer reviews, track and resolve defects
  • Support Cyber test design, environments, and tool selection, including structured trade studies evaluating cost, capability, reliability, performance, and schedule impacts
  • Develop and review technical milestone artifacts and Contract Data Requirements Lists (CDRLs) to ensure contractual compliance
