Job Description: Job Family Definition: Designs, develops, troubleshoots and debugs software programs for ASIC SDK and new switch products. Develops software including Linux operating systems, networks, utilities, and Linux debug tools. Determines hardware compatibility and/or influences hardware design. Has the ability to understand RTL, write C/C++, Python, Rust, Go Lang. Management Level Definition: Contributions include applying intermediate level of subject matter expertise to solve common technical problems. Acts as an informed team member providing analysis of information and recommendations for appropriate action. Works independently within an established framework and with moderate supervision. Applies knowledge acquired in his college courses to solve complex business issues. Frequently contributes to the development of new ideas and processes. Works on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of multiple factors. Leads and/or provides expertise to functional project teams and may participate in cross-functional initiatives. Contributes to process improvements and establishing policies. Sometimes represents the organization to external customers/clients. Exercises significant independent judgment within broadly defined policies and practices to determine the best method for accomplishing work and achieving objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Typically, at least one intern experience before this.
  • Extensive experience with multiple software systems design tools and languages: C and Python.
  • Experience reading the ASIC designs and understanding them in detail.
  • Experience working with some flavor of Emulator and Simulator environments.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills – think outside the box.
  • Experience in overall architecture of software systems: Linux kernel drivers Designing and integrating software systems running on multiple platform types into overall architecture.
  • Evaluating forms and processes for software systems testing and methodology, including writing and execution of test plans, debugging, and testing scripts and tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English and local language.
  • Ability to effectively communicate product architectures, design proposals and negotiate options at senior management levels.

Responsibilities

  • Designs limited enhancements, updates, and real-time programming changes for portions and subsystems of systems software. The software exploits the full potential of hardware design.
  • Provides tangible feedback to improve product quality and mitigate risk failures.
  • Analyzes design and determines coding, programming, and integration activities required based on specific objectives and established project guidelines.
  • Executes and writes portions of testing plans, protocols, and documentation for assigned portion of application; identifies and debugs issues with code and suggests changes or improvements.
  • Participates as a member of project team of other software systems engineers and internal and outsourced development partners to develop reliable, cost effective and high-quality solutions for assigned systems portion or subsystem.
  • Collaborates and communicates with internal and outsourced development partners regarding software systems design status, project progress, and issue resolution.
