About The Position

As an Embroidery Machine Operator, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and quality of embroidered garments. Your role involves preparing and operating embroidery machines, transferring art designs, and performing quality checks on finished products. You will work closely with zone leaders to obtain setup approvals and ensure that production details are accurately documented. Your attention to detail and ability to make necessary adjustments during machine operation will be crucial in maintaining high standards of quality.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in embroidery operation or a related field preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and quality assurance skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Basic computer skills – Ability to transfer and open files
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and twist on a regular basis
  • Ability to stand and walk for 8+ hours per day
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis.
  • Ability to lift and manipulate garments and materials as needed
  • Manual dexterity for operating machinery and performing detailed work
  • Dexterity to thread needles
  • Ability to push down with pressure on top hoop to secure the garment to bottom of hoop

Responsibilities

  • Confirm the accuracy of garments, fabric, hoops, thread, backing, Art Packet, and Work Order
  • Transfer the art design to the computer for machine access
  • Prepare machines by threading bobbins and needles
  • Utilize the Art Tech Sheet to input the correct color sequence into the machine
  • Set up the machine program using a floppy disk or USB drive to retrieve the corresponding Art Number from the work order, ensuring the color sequence matches the Art Tech Sheet
  • Tag, hoop and un-hoop garments
  • Obtain setup approval from the zone leader before proceeding
  • Load hooped garments onto the machine, adding tinfoil and applique material as needed, and start the machine
  • Oversee the machine during operation and make necessary adjustments
  • Configure and monitor the laser, adjusting burn lines as necessary
  • Remove excess pellon, stitching, and thread using appropriate tools like tweezers and scissors.
  • Inspect finished products for quality assurance
  • Complete a sew-out for new designs to ensure accuracy and quality
  • Fill out work orders accurately to document production details
  • Box completed orders, verifying the work order number, garment color, size, and style
