As an Emergency Communications Technician II, you will receive and create calls for service, both emergency and non-emergency, and enter them into the Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD). You will communicate with first responders via radio, telephone, and email. The primary communication with the first responders will be via a dedicated radio channel to ensure quick and accurate response to both types of calls for service. Emergency Communications Technician II This is a full performance Emergency Communications Technician position that includes all aspects of 9-1-1 Communications: Call Taking, Virginia Criminal Information Network (VCIN) entry and clearing, Police Radio Dispatch and Fire & Rescue Dispatch. Serves in the Public Safety Communications Center (PSCC) of the Office of Public Safety, located at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport. Receives, creates, processes, and relays emergency and non-emergency communications via various public safety communications equipment, and dispatches police, fire, and emergency medical services (EMS) at Airports Authority locations, Dulles Toll Road, Access Road, and to mutual aid jurisdictions. Performs administrative tasks related to national and state law enforcement databases and verbally communicates with First Responders via radio and telephone. Monitors the Airports Authority Security Systems and responds to alarms that are identified as Level One (highest priority). This response includes camera review, contact with the person who set off the alarm, or sending police to resolve the alarm. Performs related functions.
