St. Michael Medical Center Emergency Department is the second largest in the state of Washington, and offers 52 state of the art private treatment rooms. The open floor model allows for greater visibility, patient safety, and supports our team nursing approach. Doctors, Nurses, ED Techs, and Social Workers collaborate to provide our patients with the best in emergency care. Critical patients can be transferred and received by helicopter with a helipad located on the hospital rooftop. We are certified by the Joint Commission as a Cardiac and Stroke Center and are designated as a Level III Trauma Center with 2 private bays for providing critical care. The front end process includes 6 Fast track and 5 triage rooms with assigned doctors and nurses to support rapid assessment and treatment.
