About The Position

Job Summary: When the unexpected happens, preparation makes the difference. As the Emergency Management Lead at Centrus Energy, you’ll be the architect and champion of our Emergency Management Program—ensuring our people, facilities, and operations are ready to respond safely and effectively in a highly regulated nuclear environment. You’ll work across Emergency Response, Nuclear Safety, Operations, and Regulatory teams to build a culture of preparedness, compliance, and continuous improvement. What You Will Do: You will implement and maintain a compliant Emergency Management Program aligned with NRC, DOE, OSHA, and company requirements, developing and updating Emergency Action Plans and Facility Emergency Packets. You’ll lead hazard assessments, coordinate drills and full-scale exercises, collaborate with site response teams and local agencies on pre-incident planning, and ensure Emergency Operations Center staffing readiness. The role includes maintaining policies and procedures, providing emergency preparedness training, overseeing contractor support activities, supporting corrective actions, performing change evaluations, and serving as backup to the Fire Safety & Emergency Management Manager when needed—all while promoting safe, secure, and efficient work practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in emergency management or closely related discipline, or equivalent technical experience
  • 3+ years of emergency management experience in industrial, process, or regulated facilities such as DOE, nuclear, chemical, or large manufacturing environments
  • Knowledge of NRC, DOE, OSHA, 10 CFR Part 70, and other applicable regulations
  • Experience implementing emergency management training, drills, and exercise programs
  • Strong technical writing and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a “Q” clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • FEMA Emergency Management Institute certificates such as IS-100, IS-120, IS-200, IS-230, IS-235, IS-453, IS-700, IS-800, or IS-2200
  • Experience coordinating with regulators, contractors, and multi-disciplinary response teams
  • Demonstrated ability to lead corrective action improvements following drills or real-world events
  • Current “Q” or “L” clearance.
