About The Position

Subject Matter Expert Category 2 (SME Cat. 2) Applies intermediate-level expertise in specific all-hazards domains (e.g., natural disasters, technological hazards, or public health emergencies) to support NTED’s Training Partners Program (TPP). Responsibilities include performing targeted reviews of training curricula; assisting in conducting and documenting training delivery audits; contributing technical input and recommendations during Review Board activities; researching emerging training needs; and supporting development of improvement plans for curricula and delivery standards.

The Emergency Management Subject Matter Expert 2 will offer experienced insights into strategic intent, process visioning, and operational performance for emergency management training programs.

Requirements

• Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in a related discipline.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently or under general direction.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required; additional 4 years of experience may substitute for the degree.

Nice To Haves

• Background in government agency partnerships.
• Knowledge of all-hazards curricula.

Responsibilities

• Provide evaluation, consultation, guidance, or direction in specialized areas.
• Consult on process, content, and deliverables with teams and officials.
• Contribute content and best practices, translating terminology.
• Provide recommendations verbally and in writing.
• Oversee research, educational activities, staff evaluations, and liaisons under minimal supervision.
