On Call Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)
About The Position
The Adult Crisis Center Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) provides direct medical and programmatic care to clients experiencing a behavioral health crisis. This role works with clients during the admission process to determine continued eligibility and develop goal-directed plans of care for minor medical concerns. The EMT participates in healthcare education and provides direct oversight to personnel delivering medical care within the crisis center. As part of an interdisciplinary team, this position focuses on crisis intervention skills to de-escalate, treat, and stabilize individuals experiencing behavioral health needs.
Requirements
- Valid Oregon EMS/EMT license
- Experience working with severely, chronically, or mentally ill populations
- Satisfactory results of fingerprinting and background checks
- Ability to work in a 24/7 crisis center environment
Responsibilities
- Provide direct medical care to clients experiencing a behavioral health crisis
- Conduct medical assessments during the admission process to determine continued eligibility
- Develop goal-directed plans of care for minor medical issues
- Participate in client healthcare education
- Provide oversight to personnel delivering medical care within the crisis center
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to de-escalate and stabilize clients
- Maintain safety and compliance with agency and regulatory standards
- Support a 24/7 crisis center environment including morning, swing, and overnight shifts
