About The Position

Night Full Time Emergency Registered Nurse $15,000 - Sign On Bonus offered for new hires. Per policy, current employees are not eligible. Employee Referral Eligible position. Mercy San Juan Medical Center is Sacramento area’s first Comprehensive Stroke Center and we are a Regional receiving center for many specialties including: trauma ortho high risk maternity NICU and STEMI. Our fast-paced 31-bed Emergency Department has skilled physicians who work closely with specially trained nurses and other healthcare professionals to see the approximate 80,000 patients each year. Our success directly correlates with high employee satisfaction scores which can be attributed to our collaborative practice with physicians management and our involvement of staff in peer interviews. As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will be a pivotal healthcare professional, delivering compassionate, high-quality care that truly impacts our patients' well-being and recovery. Requirements

  • 2 years recent experience in an Emergency department as a RN within the last 5 years
  • Current CA RN licensure
  • Current AHA BLS, ACLS, PALS
  • TNCC required within 6 months of hire
  • ASLS (Advanced Stroke Life Support) within 6 months of hire
  • MICN required within 24 months of hire

Responsibilities

  • Assessment: Performs total body and system assessment each shift/visit according to unit standards.
  • Care of Patient: Including planning, implementing, evaluating and educating.
  • Clinical/Technical Skills: Utilizes technology, procedures, protocols, standards and interventions specific to assigned unit.
  • Documentation: Performs legible, timely, concise and accurate documentation according to policies and procedures. Proficient and competent with the computerized documentation system.
  • Leadership: Accepts responsibility and accountability for own decisions and behaviors. Recognizes, accepts and cooperates with direction from facility leadership.
  • Precepting/Mentoring: Participates in orientation of new staff, ancillary personnel and mentors students in a constructive and positive manner. Serves as resource to staff from other nursing departments.
  • Self-Development: Continues education by attending non-mandatory education offerings specific to area of practice. Maintains awareness of issues related to nursing profession.
