About The Position

The Paramedic works in a 48 bed, full-service Emergency Department (ED) treating all ages. This role assumes the responsibility for assisting with the implementation of supportive nursing care under the direction of a Registered Nurse and Medical Director. The Under the direction of a health care practitioner, the Paramedic provides patient care within a defined scope of practice that includes patient care/observation, specified treatments and procedures; provision of environmental and personal safety, and effective communication. The Paramedic is also responsible for collecting pertinent data within their certification scope of responsibilities and reporting these clinical, psychosocial, etc. findings to the RN or ED medical provider and charts appropriately. Works in collaboration with RNs and medical providers to provide patient care to adult medical and trauma patients utilizing advanced skills and judgment. Paramedics will be responsible for ECG interpretation, IV therapy, airway patency, and initiation of approved protocol orders and guidelines of patients in the ED setting. Demonstrates Service Excellence at all times. Other duties as assigned. Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Vocational/Technical School/Diploma
  • EMT-P Paramedic Program
  • State of Florida Paramedic License
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification
  • Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) Certification (within six (6) months of start date)
  • Minimum of two (2) years of pre-hospital Paramedic experience

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of one (1) year of hospital Paramedic experience
