This role ensures the fair and consistent application of policies, promotes a respectful and supportive workplace culture, and ensures compliance with federal, state, and hospice-specific employment regulations. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Employment Law, Business Administration, or related field; equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of progressive HR experience with a strong focus on employee relations and compliance.
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and healthcare regulatory environments.
  • Proven ability to conduct thorough workplace investigations and manage high-risk employee matters.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, investigation, and documentation skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify trends and recommend proactive solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain impartiality, discretion, and professionalism in sensitive situations.
  • Must maintain a valid driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record.
  • Must comply with all health screening and vaccination requirements of the organization and position, including annual Influenza vaccination.
  • Occasional travel may be required for on-site investigations, leadership support, and training sessions.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in healthcare, hospice, or highly regulated environments preferred.
  • HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP) preferred.
  • Experience with HRIS systems and employee relations case management tools.
  • Proven ability to lead change initiatives and improve workplace culture.
  • Bilingual abilities a plus in diverse workforce environments.

Responsibilities

  • Manage employee relations cases, including investigations, corrective action, terminations, and conflict resolution.
  • Conduct comprehensive, timely, and impartial investigations into employee complaints, grievances, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and workplace misconduct.
  • Ensure thorough, defensible documentation and consistent application of policies.
  • Serve as a trusted HR consultant to managers and employees on performance management, disciplinary actions, documentation practices, and conflict resolution.
  • Coach leaders on effective employee communication and best practices in managing sensitive employee matters.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws (including FLSA, FMLA, ADA, and EEOC regulations) and hospice-specific regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor and interpret employment laws and healthcare workforce regulations to maintain organizational compliance.
  • Partner with legal, compliance, and HR leadership on complex cases and policy interpretation.
  • Identify organizational risks through analysis of employee relations trends and recommend proactive solutions.
  • Ensure consistent application of HR policies and procedures across departments and locations.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain employee relations policies and procedures aligned with legal compliance and organizational values.
  • Partner with leadership on policy updates and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Analyze employee relations data and trends to identify areas for improvement and support workforce stability and engagement.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential, and comprehensive records of employee relations activities.
  • Develop and deliver manager training related to employee relations, compliance, documentation, and performance management.
  • Facilitate educational programs to promote respectful workplace practices and regulatory awareness.
  • Support leaders in fostering a positive, accountable, and mission-driven culture.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Vice President of Human Resources or COO.
