The Department of Probation is seeking a skilled, motivated, and experienced professional to fill the role of Employee Relations Coordinator. This position plays a key role in managing employee programs, overseeing tasks and standards and performance evaluations for non-managerial staff, as well as helping to shape new initiatives, policies, and procedures aimed at improving employee satisfaction and retention. The Employee Relations Coordinator will collaborate closely with Human Resources and Labor Relations to align operations with established goals and ensure successful implementation. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: - Assisting managers with employee write-ups, Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs), involuntary termination requests, and termination sessions, ensuring that all appropriate supporting documentation is collected and compiled. - Serving as the agency’s Health & Safety Coordinator by assisting with the implementation of Workplace Violence (WPV), Occupational Health & Safety, and Workers’ Compensation policies and training. - Serving as the agency’s Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Coordinator and providing guidance and direction to staff regarding dispute resolution. - Ensuring adherence to agency policies and procedures by providing guidance, direction, and information to staff to help eliminate or reduce workplace conflict. - Promoting and coordinating employee wellness and engagement events. - Scheduling and conducting new hire orientations.
