About The Position

EMS Dispatcher — Emergency Medical Services Be the calm voice that sends help. As an EMS Dispatcher, you’ll answer emergency and non-emergency calls, dispatch appropriate resources, and provide pre-arrival instructions—coordinating across teams to ensure timely response. Job Summary Intake calls for medical assistance, deploy EMS units per protocol, operate multiple communication systems, and document all activity accurately.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • current American Heart Association BLS
  • Obtain Emergency Medical Dispatcher (EMD) certification through IAED within 4–6 months (initial course/testing funded with work agreement).

Nice To Haves

  • 1+ year emergency dispatch or prior NARMC EMS experience.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and prioritize emergency/non-emergent requests; dispatch resources per policy.
  • Use radio/phone/CAD professionally; follow communication procedures and etiquette.
  • Maintain preparedness, mentor new team members, and keep the center clean and organized.
