EMS Dispatcher
About The Position
The Emergency Medical Dispatcher (EMD) is responsible for effective communications, call entry, and dispatching for all 911 emergency and non-emergency medical transportation requests. Operating within our 911 Emergency Communications Call Center, this unique telecommunicator position will not only act as a 911 operator, but also as a liaison between healthcare facilities and our medical transportation team to effectively communicate available resources and expected arrival times, schedule non-emergency medical transportations, and ensure timelines are being met or new arrival expectations are set.
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Must have basic computer knowledge and skills.
- Current Priority Dispatch EMD Certification or the ability to obtain within 60 days of hire.
Responsibilities

- Dispatching for all 911 emergency and non-emergency medical transportation requests
- Act as a 911 operator
- Act as a liaison between healthcare facilities and our medical transportation team to effectively communicate available resources and expected arrival times
- Schedule non-emergency medical transportations
