About The Position

Position Summary

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Current valid N.C.Class A CDL drivers license with a good driving history.
• Maintain Medical Card, Random Drug Screens and other CDL required Documents
• Two years experience in vehicle repair and troubleshooting
• Knowledge of occupational hazards and standards safety precautions necessary in the work and work site, operating principles of electric motors and engines fueled by gasoline, diesel, or gaseous fuels, methods, materials, paint , tools, and techniques used in repair, maintenance, welding, and fabrication of heavy and light equipment as well as body and fender and mechanical repair work on a variety of municipal equipment, and the use and care of tools used in work.
• Positive interpersonal skills.
• Have effective written and verbal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• EMS credential or experience preferred
• Secondary Technical Education or experience in the automotive repair field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lubricating services, diagnose, repair, assemble, and maintain equipment and vehicle such as Ambulances, automobiles, and trucks.
• Make field repairs as needed.
• Perform general tire and repair work on equipment and vehicles.
• Accurately update manual and computerized records related to work activities.
• Keep abreast of changes to industry standards.
• Perform field or shop inspections of heavy and light equipment to determine repair needs or estimate cost of repairs.
• Propose necessary changes to systems, procedures, and equipment.
• Communicate status of repair, maintenance of fabrication work.
• Assist in maintaining inventory of all supplies for units and bases.
• Respond to incidents as required.
• Participates in creating a safety culture by optimizing safety at all times.
