About The Position

Job Summary: The Charge Nurse is responsible for ensuring smooth, efficient patient flow within the clinic and coordinating daily clinical operations. This role provides leadership, delegates assignments, and oversees support staff in accordance with their training, scope of practice, and patient needs. The Charge Nurse works collaboratively with medical providers to support high-quality patient care.

Requirements

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university.
  • One to three years of related nursing experience and/or applicable clinical training.
  • Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of North Carolina or a compact state.
  • BLS certification required.
  • ACLS certification required within six (6) months of hire.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

  • Develops, manages, and adjusts the daily staff schedule to ensure appropriate coverage and efficient workflow; steps in to support staffing needs when required.
  • Provides leadership, support, and direction to the clinical team while reinforcing the goals and standards of CDHA Endoscopy.
  • Maintains real-time awareness of provider assignments, needs, and workflow.
  • Monitors staff adherence to clinical protocols, policies, and best practices.
  • Facilitates efficient room turnover, patient preparation, and recovery processes.
  • Assists with planning and conducting monthly staff meetings.
  • Ensures ongoing, clear communication with all CDHA team members to maintain operational efficiency throughout the day.
  • Supports staff with nursing duties to ensure safe and timely patient care, including but not limited to: reviewing patient histories, obtaining and documenting vital signs, initiating peripheral IVs, administering medications as ordered
  • Scheduling follow-up appointments
  • Rescheduling procedures when required
  • Identifies and resolves challenges that arise during daily operations.
  • Ensures necessary equipment, supplies, medications, and patient education materials are available and properly maintained throughout the day.
  • Promotes a safe, organized, and patient-centered clinical environment.
  • Maintains knowledge, skills and abilities through ongoing education.
  • Completes all mandatory reviews/educational required and assigned.
  • Participates in performance improvement activities.
  • Is actively committed to meeting/exceeding employee expectations/satisfaction in the performance of job functions.
  • Retains all accreditations, licensures and designations in good standing.
  • Maintains compliance with all laws and applicable regulatory requirements. Acts promptly to comply with required changes.
